Position Description
FGS The Restoration Company is a growing leader specializing in restoring homes and businesses after damages from water, fire, smoke, and mold, while also focusing on general reconstruction projects. FGS is looking for a full-time Estimator to join our team in Madison, WI!

The Estimator is to inspect the project, fill out the tick sheet and work with the insurance adjuster for final price approval of the reconstruction projects from start to finish. In this position, you will scope residential and commercial water, wind, fire, and mold restoration projects and estimate these damages with Xactimate Software. The Estimator ensures that the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standard with the agreed specifications by working closely with the project coordinator. The Estimator will take the lead in obtaining the payments due.

Principal Duties:
• Project Management: Estimate preparation for fire, water & smoke restoration, contents cleaning and pack-out, deodorization & odor control using company estimating software system.
• Write the scope of work for the work to be performed and the materials to be used on the project.
• Works with project coordinator to ensure the proper trades and pricing are selected to complete the project within budget.
• Work closely with insurance companies, insurance adjusters, insurance brokers, insureds and all other parties involved in claims and establish a good rapport with all parties and determine appropriate plans to get the building back to pre-loss condition as quickly as possible.
• Acquires Access and Authorization Form from the customer and collects the mortgage company information.
• Creates and submits all change orders and acquires approval from the insurance adjusters or customers.
• Oversight for managing and closing new business opportunities through leads and referrals generated by our business development team
• Coordinates project hand off to project coordinator and customer with an on sight project review.
• Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with our existing and new clients.
• Meet with clients: property owners and/or adjusters and inspect new projects to determine the scope of work based on assessment of damages.
• Coordinate with insurance adjusters, property owners, and/or property managers to review such assessments and refine the scope so that it is agreeable to all parties.
Position Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of Xactimate, IICRC certification and standards acceptance
• Minimum of five years in general construction experience a plus
• Good human relations skills and the ability to work well with others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Possess high attention to detail
• Proficient with PC systems and Microsoft Office software
• Ability to display professional behavior and dress as required by First General Services
