Position Description
Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for an Engineering Intern for routine operation maintenance and monitoring of water treatment systems located near Anaconda and Butte, MT. This office is looking for a self-motivated, committed individual that works safely without frequent direction. This position will consist of performing general site checks, collecting environmental samples, maintenance and repair of small operating equipment, overall site maintenance of facilities and open spaces, infrequent interaction with the public and several contractor and professional services personnel, data collection and documentation, water sampling and handling, as well as interaction with and providing assistance to other site personnel at two separate water treatment sites. The position will also require preparation of routine monitoring and system operating reports as well as documentation of site activities such as maintenance and repair activities.
Position Requirements
Essential Functions
Communicate with Contractors or Site Supervisor regarding site activities, coordination and potential project difficulties.
Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as preparation, coordination of tasks, and evaluation of field conditions.
Inspect project site and evaluate conditions for worker safety and task priorities on a daily basis.
Prepare daily field reports that document project activities and data collected.
Conduct field adjustments, maintenance and repair to site equipment using provided tools and equipment.
Ability to compile, analyze, compute, edit and process field data
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving history.
Must be able to lift 50 LBS frequently while working on uneven surfaces

The ideal candidate would have several hours between classes 2-3 days each week that could be committed to being at work.

Education: Candidate must be currently enrolled in a college curriculum and preferred degree area in Environmental/Civil Engineering or related field

Year in School: Sophomore (Minimum)
Computer Skills: Must be able to complete basic computer tasks that include Excel, Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, be familiar with database entry/data maintenance tasks.
