Position Description
• Study blueprints and / or job packages to determine the appropriate equipment needed for new installation and / or modernization of older elevator equipment.
• Install rails, machinery, car enclosures, motors, pumps, cylinders, and plunger foundations, as needed.
• Working on scaffolding or platforms, bolt or weld material, install electrical wires and /or controls, bolt or weld materials, install car’s platform, walls, and doors. As well as, install the outer doors and door- frames at the elevator entrances on each floor.
• In addition to elevators and escalators, may install devices such as dumbwaiters, material lifts, stair lifts, and wheelchair lifts.
• Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures to assure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of all federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements, including OSHA-30 certifications
Position Requirements
• Hold Certified Elevator Mechanic Credentials, coupled with required state license for which you are applying for (or able to obtain according to each state).
• Minimum 5 years as proven, certified elevator mechanic.
• Successful completion of 4 year apprenticeship program preferred, but not required with appropriate experience / credentials.
• Good physical conditions, able to lift, climb, bend, reach, walk, stand, stoop coupled with fine manipulation.
• Mechanical aptitude – able to work independently and travel as needed.
